Highway District

Authority and Responsibilities of the Highway District

• To plan highway maintenance works, highway safety operations, and small-scale construction projects.
• To survey, inspect, and prepare plans and data regarding sources of construction materials and preliminary road conditions.
• To carry out highway maintenance works, highway safety operations, and small-scale construction projects.
• To maintain, prevent deterioration, adjust, and repair machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment used for highway construction and maintenance under its responsibility.
• To implement public participation activities in areas where highway construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects are undertaken.
• To inspect, supervise, and enforce the Highway Act B.E. 2535 (1992) and its Amendment (No. 2) B.E. 2549 (2006).
• To carry out authorization procedures under highway laws as assigned.
• To operate mobile vehicle weight control stations.
• To support and coordinate operations with provincial authorities and other agencies.
• To cooperate with or support the operations of other related or assigned agencies.
